What began as an idea and initiative in one department at DB Regio became Germany's biggest public transport event – and the DB Group's biggest self-organised event.
The Zukunft Nahverkehr (Future Local Transport) initiative shows how a team recognised a need, knew how to leverage the opportunities offered by experiential communication and was able to inspire courageous partners to get involved. With unconventional teamwork on the part of the Group and service providers and a great deal of creativity, a new form of lobbying emerged – open, dialogue-oriented and effective. In September 2025, Zukunft Nahverkehr, as an official partner of IAA Mobility, literally brought the future of public transport to life.
